The Color & Gray Dog Seat Belt Adaptor keeps your dog away from the driver by securing into the seat belt clips on the back seat while also keeping your dog safe and secure.
How to use the seat belt adapter
The adapter was designed for use with IDC® Powerharness with Side Rings. It is recommended two seat belt adapters should be connected, one to each side ring of the Side Ring harness and clipped into the seat belts either side.
It can be attached in two easy steps:
- Attach the clip on the Color & Gray Dog Seat Belt Adaptor to the side ring on your IDC® Powerharnesses with Side Rings.
- Clip the universal buckle adaptor into your car’s seat belt.
WARNING: Do not attach the Seat Belt Adapter only to the Central Ring located at the top of IDC® Powerharnesses. This will not offer suitable security when coming to a fast stop. Side rings on the IDC® Powerharnesses with Side Rings should always be used.
The universal buckle adaptor
The universal buckle adaptor fits into a wide range of car models. However the buckle is not compatible with the following cars:
Not compatible with:
- Volvo
- Saab
- Chevrolet
- Ford
You can buy the Seat Belt Adapters here. They come in large, for dogs over 10kg, and small, for dogs under 10kg.
Using the IDC® Chest Pad
For added safety it’s also recommended that you attach an IDC® Chest Pad to the harness.
This helps distributes pressure more evenly across the dog’s chest in case of sharp and sudden stops. It also adds an extra layer of security to prevent your dog from getting loose from the harness.
